Selfharm vs Creativity

The box cutter can be the source of two contrasting actions, destruction (self harm) and construction (creativity).

Using this insight I developed a campaign to promote safe knive usage in schools by teaching students about the therapeutic nature of creativity.

To do this I made cutting instructions for students on cardboard out of which you can glue together an artwork. The artworks are all based on artists who also struggled with mental health. I used these artists so that during class the teacher can both create beautiful art work with students but also discuss mental health.

You can distract yourself with creativity and don’t have to harm yourself.
